The Boat

The Chris-Craft shrink-wrapped on stands

The Vessel

  • Make: Chris-Craft cruiser
  • Length: 33 feet
  • Year / model: TBD — hunting for the brochure
  • Power: Twin 350s (MerCruiser 260, 350 CID). One of them definitely needs work.
  • Price: $0. (The boat was free. Everything else is not.)
  • Condition: Fully stripped down. The previous owner planned a rebuild and never got to it.
  • Current location: On stands in a boatyard, shrink-wrapped like leftovers.
  • Name: TBD — suggestions welcome
“It came with everything except the parts. And some of the parts. In boxes. Somewhere.”

Below Deck

Surprisingly cozy for a boat that came in pieces.

The To-Do List (abridged)

  1. Get both engines running — at least one needs real work.
  2. Replace corroded batteries and sort out the wiring.
  3. Reassemble everything the last owner took apart.
  4. Safety gear, inspections, all the grown-up stuff.
  5. Put it in the water. Try not to sink it.
